C2 Montréal | Interactive installation
An interactive social media installation for a major creative business conference
C2 Montréal audiences expect polish and innovation as a baseline. CC&Co and Questology turned the event's live social conversation into a designed visual layer: real-time aggregation, moderation and a large-screen experience that respected the room.
CC&Co shaped the experience design and creative direction. Questology powered the live aggregation, filtering and display system.

Challenge
The challenge
A room that already has attention
C2 Montréal gives a screen nothing for free. The audience is creative, business-minded and visually literate, and the environment already carries a heavy expectation of innovation. The installation had to give audience participation a form and connect the digital conversation to the physical space while staying aligned with the conference's own energy.
Live social content is raw material. Dumped on a screen unfiltered, it reads as clutter; over-controlled, it stops feeling alive. The work was finding the balance where real-time energy and design intention hold together.

Insight
The strategic insight
Restraint is the design
The experience had to let the audience see itself without making the screen the main event. Public conversation became a designed layer of the atmosphere: participants got a reason to post and a way to watch the event's digital pulse reflected back into the room.
More content does not create more value in a space already saturated with ideas, visuals and people. The screen had to earn its place through editing. That discipline, deciding what stays off the screen, is where interactive installations succeed or fail.
Deliverables
What we created
Experience design and creative direction
The installation concept, visual system, interface logic and screen rhythm: posts, images, names and hashtags composed into a readable, branded display flexible enough for constantly changing content.
Real-time content engine
Questology handled the technical layer: collecting relevant posts, filtering and moderating them for a high-profile stage, and publishing selected content to the screen environment in real time.
Editorial and moderation logic
Brand-safe control over everything displayed, tuned to a creative conference rather than a festival crowd. The screen had to respect the room.
Impact
Impact
C2 Montréal's live social conversation became part of the physical event through a screen experience that felt intentional. Participation went up, the digital and physical layers of the conference connected, and the installation added energy without adding noise.
The project distills how CC&Co approaches experiential work: the behaviour around the screen is the strategy. The value came from reading what the audience was already doing and giving that behaviour a designed place inside the event.
